Banning TV channels in Kashmir undemocratic: Ghulam Hassan Mir

Srinagar:Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and Former agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Thursday condemned the banning of TV channels in the state.

Mir said that banning TV channels is ‘highhandedness’ by the government. “The TV channels providing knowledge should not have been banned. Banning these channels is undemocratic,” he said.

Meanwhile, DPN president also condemned the killing of Lt. Umar Fayaz Parray, the Kashmiri Army officer from Sadsun, Kulgam, who was found killed on Wednesday in Shopian.

He also conveyed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal solace of slain Army man.
