Srinagar: WTNS:April 20: The demise of renowned Islamic scholar and respected cleric, Allama Agha Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi Al-Najfi of Budgam, has cast a shadow of grief across Jammu and Kashmir, with leaders and followers expressing deep sorrow over the loss.
Known for his vast religious knowledge and commitment to promoting social harmony, Allama Moosavi was a widely loved and influential figure in the region. Tens of thousands of people attended his funeral to pay their final respects. His passing marks the end of an era for the Shia community and the wider society of Jammu and Kashmir. President of the All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of renowned religious scholar Allama Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi Al-Najfi of Budgam.
Imran Ansari said. “On behalf of myself, the All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association, and the entire Shia community of our region, we mourn the loss of a scholar, a guide, and a spiritual light whose absence has left a void that cannot be filled.”
He added, “Allama Aga Baqir Sahib was not only a towering religious personality of Kashmir, but a bridge between the sacred knowledge of Najaf and the lived experiences of our people. His teachings, his character, and his dedication will continue to inspire generations to come.”

The late Ayatullah Aga Syed Baqir Almosvi Kashmiri (Budgam) had a special reputation all over the prestigious theological institutions of Iraq, Iran and the subcontinent as a recluse with genuine and prominent scholarship, a theologian, reformer, orator, literati, historian, critic, researcher and jurisprudent.
Social Activist Hakim Suhail Abbas Kashmiri
In a moving tribute, social activist Hakim Suhail Abbas Kashmiri recalled, “My meetings with Allama Sahib were like voyages into an ocean of pure knowledge.
