It advocates the extension of participatory democracy and the expansion of the open society, standing for human rights and social justice. Free of supernaturalism, it recognizes human beings as a part of nature and holds that values-be they religious, ethical, social, or political-have their source in human experience and culture. Humanism thus derives the goals of life from human need and interest rather than from theological or ideological abstractions, and asserts that humanity must take responsibility for its own destiny, what’s’ more Writes Syeda Sabeeka a student based writer.
The contemporary age is the age of scientific revolution , everywhere we see the triumphs of remarkable scientific advancements which has made our life so much comfortable. Though scientific evidences have become the buzz words and everyone is a buzz with its miraculous offspring in all spheres of our life with much fanfare and brutality but there is an absolute dearth of human ethos and excellence. Humanism as for me can be summed as the abstract qualities of immense love, sacrifice ,compassion aimed at to adorn human kind which then symbolizes the humanity as an index of being kind to each other by living in the universal brotherhood which is the paramount need of the hour , since I have learnt from the poem of “James Kirkup “ in the poem No men are foreign “That humans are earth are alike ,they breathe, feel and weep in the same way, why should we differentiate each other on the bass of caste , freed, colour, gender and religion when no men are strange ,no country foreign.

The principles of all religions with all its schools of thoughts are to pay all the sacrifices, with ravishingly striving for toiling – moiling affairs to cement our universal brotherhood. All contrary to this what are we witnessing is the blood deluged human catastrophic consequences, infinite innocent killings, slaughtering people on the basis of Creed religions, orphaning at the large scale which has never seen before. These human disasters sent shivers to the spine of humanism. The modern man has turned to be wickedly callous and made divisions among humanism. It is the matter of great concern and pity that despite, existing in the age of scientific Crust we are heading toward Mephistophelian landscape. Which precisely means our Sharpe U-turn from the way of straight forwardness . To love humanity and to live like human in the real workshop which obviously lies in the humanitarian service to make the humanism immortal. We need to seek the Prophets guideline so not to get despaired from the realms of humanism. Our evolutionary aim for humanity seeks to move from a man to mankind which is undoubtedly, the ultimate need.
