Srinagar:‘WhoIsHussain? a globally recognized non-government organisation (NGO) held a plantation drive in this capital city covering several educational institutes.
The one day drive organized by the Kashmir chapter of the organization in association with education department was started on the occassion of Navroz, from government boys school Sonwar, reports said.
A large number of students enthusiastically participated in the drive which was inaugurated by. Director School Education Dr Shah Faesal. “We wish that the plantation drives to be done by the school children who will in turn take care of them in the future”, he said. More than 200 conifers were planted in various government run high and Higher secondary schools at Hyderpora,High schools at Rawalpora,Zadibal and Nowhatta.
Besides the team of the whoishussain?a large number of school children participated in the day long drive. “It is a great honor to work under such a banner that is recognized globally, we are highly inspired by Grandson of Holy Prophet (S) Imam Hussain (AS) in all aspects of life and one must try to motivate each other to do voluntary works in our society, said a group member.He said that ‘WhoIsHussain?’ Kashmir chapter has been doing voluntary work like cleanliness drives, blood donation and medical camps from past one year in Valley.
“Our intention is to do all the voluntary work under the banner WhoIsHussain?, this plantation drive is one such initiative, said the Chapter head of the organization.
