Srinagar: Former Chief Minister and vice president of National Conference Omar Abdullah condemned the attack on CRPF terming it a disturbing trend reminiscent of dark days.
In a tweet Omar said, “Terrible news coming from the valley. A number of CRPF soldiers are reported to have been killed & injured in an IED blast. I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms. My prayers for the injured & condolences to the families of the bereaved. #Kashmir.”
“Jaish has claimed the blast as a suicide (fidaeen) attack reminiscent of the dark days of militancy pre 2004-05. #Kashmir,” he said in another tweet.
Former CM and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said this is a very disturbing news and called for the end of this madness.
Taking to micro blogging website twitter Mehbooba said, “Disturbing news coming in from #awantipura . Twelve of our security personnel have been martyred and several have been injured. No words are enough to condemn the gruesome terror attack. How many more lives will be snuffed out before this madness ends?”
Ghulam Nabi Azad, Leader of Opposition (Rajya Sabha) has strongly condemned the IED attack on CRPF bus at Awantipora, Kashmir killing more than dozen jawans.
“I strongly condemn the attack and my heart goes out to the families of those killed and the jawans who are injured. It is unfortunate that terrorism is again raising its ugly head in Jammu & Kashmir and precious lives of our para-military forces have been lost. I urge Governor, J&K to take all possible steps to compensate the families of those killed,” he said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has strongly condemned the attack on CRPF Convoy leaving 23 personnel dead, as reported and scores injured.
The party described it as cowardly and inhuman attack on the part of attacker and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families of slain CRPF Personnel.
In a statement issued, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson has strongly condemned the suicide attack on CRPF Personnel and blamed Centre Government for miserably failing to restore peace in valley, saying that the wrongly policies adopted by the Centre Government has vitiated the peace further in Kashmir valley and there was no end to bloodshed.
Calling the Awantipora attack as gruesome, cowardly and terrible, the Spokesperson conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families of slain CRPF personnel and sympathized with them.
Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir on condemned the attack on CRPF personnel at Lethpora in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Mir in a statement said “the killings and bloodshed will take us nowhere.”
“There is need to put an end to the violence,” he said and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Thursday said the killing of CRPF personnel and injuries to dozens of others is highly condemnable.
In a statement issued, Tarigami said that such killings once again reminds that violence is not the answer to resolve the issues. “Killings can never be solution to any problem,” he said.
The Modi-government had promised, three years ago, to initiate a political process involving all stakeholders through a dialogue. This has not happened and must be done immediately. , he added.
While expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the personnel, who laid down their lives in the line of duty, he demanded an immediate end to the killings.
Peoples Conference (PC) Chairman and former minister, Sajad Gani Lone on Thursday condemned the attack on CRPF convoy in Lehtpora area of Awantipora, terming it as cowardly act.
He expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of those soldiers killed in the attack and also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.
“Strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on CRPF convoy in Lethpora today. Deeply disturbed by this senseless act of violence. My heart goes out for the families of soldiers killed in the attack and pray for speedy recovery of the injured soldiers,” Lone tweeted.
Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen has expressed his shock over the killings of army personnel in an IED blast near Letapora, Pulwama adding that killings of innocent human beings in any form was against tenants of all religion. He said killings in any form cause loss of precious human lives.
In a statement issued, Hakeem Yaseen has said that killing of human lives gives nothing other than leaving bad scars on humanity. He said Center should rethink over its Kashmir policy and immediately start dialogue on resolution of Kashmir dispute so that ongoing bloodshed and mayhem is stopped. He said India and Pakistan should stop naked dance of death and destruction in Kashmir on humanitarian grounds.
