Caracas | WTNS | Sep 30:Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro strongly condemned the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah at the hands of the Israeli occupation, denouncing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “Hitlerish” and criticizing world leaders for their silence.

Tehran – ISNA – In a speech during a pro-Palestinian rally in La Guaira on Saturday, Maduro expressed Venezuela’s solidarity with the people of Lebanon and Gaza, the victims of genocide and terrorist attacks perpetrated by the Israeli occupation.

The Israeli regime launched a massive air raid on the Southern Suburb of Beirut, leveling several buildings on Friday. Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of Sayyed Nasrallah on Saturday afternoon, pledging to remain steadfast on the path drawn out by the leader throughout the several decades that he served as Secretary-General to the Resistance party.

“On behalf of the Historical Bloc of the Revolution, I express my solidarity with the Lebanese people after the announcement of the assassination of the Islamic leader, Sayyed Nasrallah,” said Maduro. He further condemned the silence of international leaders, stating, “Cowards of the world are silent, but no one will silence the rebellious, revolutionary people.”

Netanyahu ‘only reminds us of Hitler’

Maduro’s remarks also saw him drawing comparisons between the Israeli prime minister and Adolf Hitler. “We are witnessing the actions of a murderer who only reminds us of Hitler,” he said.

“The orders for this attack were issued from the UN headquarters in New York,” he added, accusing Netanyahu of orchestrating the attack during his visit to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Venezuelan president also called on Muslims, Arabs, and people worldwide to unite and raise their voices in solidarity with Palestine and Lebanon.

Maduro has long championed the causes of liberation and Resistance, going after the Israeli occupation and Western institutions repeatedly since the start of the Gaza genocide.

For example, in April, Maduro shed light on the inaction of the International Court of Justice regarding the genocide in Gaza.

Venezuela’s President said that the unfolding events in Gaza have revealed the true face of international organizations, showing that they serve global imperialist powers. Expressing his deep concern, Maduro pointed to the killing of thousands of people and the deliberate destruction of hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which comes, according to him, at a historical moment when the International Court of Justice has done nothing to protect the right of the Palestinian people to life.

Maduro stressed the need for the international community to condemn the acts of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation in Palestine. The President reiterated his country’s demands for an end to the genocide committed by “Israel” against the Palestinian people, underscoring the imperative of the ICJ to intervene to enforce this cessation.
