One Day Conference on Kashmir Language held at Anantnag Kashmir

Experts explained the importance of Kashmiri Language in the development of the Kashur Culture and Civilization.

Anantnag:Maraz Adbi Sangam organised one day Kashmiri conference in collaboration with Govt. Degree College for women Anantnag, District Information Centre Anantnag and Right to Information Foundation of India  in the auditorium of Govt. Degree College for Women Anantnag. 

On this occasion scholars and experts of Kashmiri Language explained the importance of Kashmiri Language in the development of the Kashur Culture and Civilization. 

They discussed the challenges being faced by the Kashmiri language for its existence and endeavours being done for its development at different levels. 

Among others ( Poets and Scholars ) present on the occasion include Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi Professor Bashar Basheer, Dr.Nazir Azad,  Zahid Mukhtar, Dr. Hasrat Hussain, Aijaz Gulam  Mohammad Lalu, GN Aatish, Dr.  Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Ali Shaida, Mohd Ashraf Bhat, Hameeda Shah Akhter, Rasheed Sarshar, Riyaz Anznoo, Izhar Mubashir, Zafar Salati,  Raja Yousuf, Sr. Saida, Principal host college Muzaaffar Ahmad Khan,  Javaid Sagar and Makbool Veeray. 

While speaking on the occasion Dr Veeri, one of the founding member of MAS, higligted the contribution of Adbi Sangam since its inception in art culture and literature in South Kashmir & appreciated the selfless dedication of its members in encouraging the young talent to realise the dreams of excellence and make the platform more viable & vibrant. 

Dr Veeri said, South Kashmir is home to legendary figures from Lal ded, Shiekul Aalam to Mehmood Gami, Rusul Mir to Mehjoor to name a few. Similarly people from our region have also contributed in other field at equal proportions which needs to be highlighted for encouragement of posterity. Cultural platforms plays vital role in conflict ridden areas to paint the reality on ground in different form which finaly helps in emancipation of the suffering people, Dr Veeri said.  

A galaxy of students of the college also participated in the conference. 

On this occasion three books entitled Fikr – U – Fun, Siyah Rath Maet Khwaab, Husn – E – Murat and Vaeth – E – Aagur of Rasheed Sarshar, Hameeda Shah Akhter, Gh Nabi Malik and Maraaz Adbi Sangam respectively were released.

 Awards entitled Life Time Achievement Award, Shah Parah Maraaz, 2016, Sham – E – Maraz 2016, Shaier Maraz 2016, Shamsul – Ul – Maraaz 2016 Shan – E – Maraaz 2016, Sharf – E – Maraaz were given Posthumously to Gh Nabi Firaaq, and others including Singer Shazia Bashir,  Manzoor Khalid, Zahid Mukhtar, Dr. Nazir Aazad, Proff. Bashar Basheer respectively. 

While addressing the audience the eminent broadcaster, poet and former Director Doordarshan Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi talked about the various dimensions of the literature with particular reference to Kashmiri language and literature. President MAS Aijaz Gh Mohammad Lalu said that we need to work at grass root level to bring Kashmiri language in every household. He added that we need to bring forward the works of forgotten poets and writers of the Kashmiri language for the present generation. Later a Mehfil – E – Mushiara was also organised in which poets recited their latest poems and mesmerised the audiance.
