Srinagar | WTNS | Aug 19: Senior Indian Politician and Former Jammu Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh Friday said that the statement made by the Chief Electoral Officer J&K is a totally irresponsible one and there is no law for voting rights to Non locals in the constitution of India.

Addressing a news conference at his residence, Former Member Parliament said that CEO’s statement has created chaos in Jammu and Kashmir. “I think he has made the statement about new voters in J&K out of his hand and has ripped apart the constitution,” he said.

As per the reports of Wilayat Times, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh lashed out at the CEO saying that the Government of India must clear the air as the statement has virtually ripped apart the Constitution.

He said that definitely security forces are deployed here to maintain peace, but as per the law, no one has the right to vote and statement may cause a blow to the peace in J&K.

Beigh said the government of India should come clear over the issue.

A former advocate general requested Government of India to take concrete steps to bridge the gap between Srinagar-New Delhi and invite all stake holders including politicians as well as civil society members, journalists, businessmen and employees for talks and for the promotion of peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

Asked about the all Party meeting on Monday, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh said that if invited will go to APM and it shouldn’t be only political parties but also all stakeholders including civil society, media fraternity and peoples from different shades of society.
