Tehran:Leader of Isalmic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei’s statements made in meeting with the organizers of the Congress on Sistan-Baluchestan’s Martyrs held on February 5, 2018, were published this morning at the congress place in Zahedan.
I deeply admire the people of Sistan Baluchistan. The Baluch people are warm, welcoming, kind and talented. In terms of historical background, the people of Sistan are unique and prominent among all ethnic groups of Iran. Sistan-Baluchistan, like the provinces of Kurdistan and Golestan, is a symbol of Islamic unity and an example for the world in cooperation and brotherly coexistence of Shias and Sunnis. We’d like to teach that to the world, asking Muslim brethren to work together and live in peace alongside one another. Sistan-Baluchistan in Iran is an example. Actually, the enemy has targeted the same region as they try to sow discord. A Sunni youth martyred during the Sacred Defense or a Sunni Molawi (scholar) martyred by anti-revolution agents, for his defense of the Islamic Revolution, proves that in the Islamic Republic, Sunnis and Shias stand by one another during the most challenging obstacles.
Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei says Sunni and Shia Muslims have always stood united to defend their own country against the enemies at the most difficult times of the Islamic Republic.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with a group of families of martyrs from Iranian eastern Sunni-dominated province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
Referring to the fact that the enemies have plotted against the unity of the Iranian nation since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei said that “everyone stood against the Islamic Republic, but they all failed.”
Leader further added that the Islamic Republic managed to preserve its existence through the sacrifices that its people (the martyrs) made against all the enemies’ conspiracies.
Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Sunni Muslims of the eastern Iranian province for their loyalty and sacrifices, adding that there are areas in Iran that Sunni and Shia live together as a symbol of unity between the two communities.
The Leader went on to point out that Sistan and Baluchistan has become a symbol of brotherhood and unity among the Sunni and Shia Muslims.
