Burglary incident in Khanqah-e-Mir Shams-ud-din Araqi,Aga Hassan demand Stern Action

Srinagar | WTNS | June 20: Thieves looted the goods and cash from the Holy Shrine in Zadibal area of Srinagar Kashmir. Aga Syed Hassan demand stern action and police says efforts are on to nab the culprits.

Sources told Wilayat Times News Service that goods and cash from a chest located in the lawns of Khanqah-e- Hazrat Mir Shams-ud-din Araqi R.A at Zadibal was looted by burglars. The incident has created resentment among local population and people have expressed concern and demanded immediate arrest of those responsible for the act.

A police official from Zadibal Police Station said that a case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the culprits.

Meanwhile Senior Islamic Scholar and President J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian Hojatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi expressed sorrow over the burgalary incident in Ziyarat Khanqah-e-Mir Shams-ud-din Araki R.A.

In a Statement to Wilayat Times, Aga Syed Hassan said that the incidents of theft at religious places are very regrettable and intolerable. Protection of religious places is the responsibility of state administration but unfortunately no attention is being paid to it.

Khanqah-e-Mir Shams-ud-Din Araki R.A has been the first center for the propagation of Islam in Kashmir and even today this Khanqah is a symbol of the same devotion for Shias of Kashmir.

President J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian demanded immediate arrest of culprits and recovery of stolen goods and amount.

Its here to mention that Many historians have opined that Mir Shams-ud-din Araqi  is the first preacher of Shia school of thought in Kashmir valley. Few Shia saints and scholars had travelled before Mir Syed Shamsuddin Iraqi travelled to Kashmir. Prominent among them being Sharif ud Din Mosavi , but on account of turbulent circumstances they did not preach the Ahlebayat school of thought.
