COVID-19:J&K tally crosses 50,000 mark

Srinagar | WTNS | September 11:Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported yet another spike of 1,578 cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 73 travelers taking the total number of positive cases to 50,712 in the Union Territory.

Of the total 59,712 cases, 35,037 are from Kashmir and 15,675 from Jammu division. Officials told KNO, among 1,578 new cases, 770 belong to Kashmir division while as 808 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 35,037 including 27,115 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 15,675 including 7,964 recoveries and 137 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 15,169 including 7,205 from Kashmir division and 7,964 from Jammu division.

With 474 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 34,689 which is 68.40 percent of the total cases which was over 78 percent few day before.

Notably, ist time since covid-19 outbreak, active cases have reached over fifteen thousand in J&K.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 267 from Srinagar, 43 from Baramulla, 34 from Pulwama, 176 from Budgam, 41 from Anantnag, 70 from Bandipora, 66 from Kupwara, 18 from Kulgam, 08 from Shopian and 47 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 808 from Jammu division include  415 from Jammu, 64 from Rajouri, 38 from Kuthua, 101 from Udhampur, 44 from Samba, 27 from Ramban, 26 from Doda, 49 from Poonch, 02 from Reasi and 42 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 11,243 positive cases including 247 deaths and 9,200 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,317 including 111 deaths and 2,411 recoveries are from Baramulla, 3,069 including 2,554 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,457 including 2,248 ‘recoveries and 69 deaths are from Budgam, 2,803 including 53 deaths and 2,058 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,628 including 1,874 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,676 cases including 1,765 and 56 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,059 including 1,897 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,805 including 1,678 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Shopian and 1,980 including 1,430 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 7,697 including 2,466 recoveries and 81 deaths are from Jammu district, 1,281 including 827 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,243 including 854 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kuthua, 1,295 including 815 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Udhampur, 979 including 617 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Samba, 763 including 653 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 665 including 387 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Doda, 728 including 390 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Poonch, 537 including 346 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Reasi and 487 including 219 recoveries and 01 death are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 509,482 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,577 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 15,169 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 397,834 persons have completed surveillance period and 53,048 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,177,773 samples are available.

Out of 1,177,773 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,127,061 while 50,712 have tested positive, among them 15,169 are active and 34,689 persons have recovered.
