Tehran:Ahlul Bayt World Assembly has issued a statement of condolence on the occasion of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani’s passing away.

In parts of the statement it is mentioned, “His courage during his years of exile and imprisonment, his perseverance in following Imam Khomeini, pioneering the support of Palestine and Lebanon, his efforts in establishing Islamic Revolution, resistance against sedition and division, his efforts in frontlines, and his enlightenment on Friday Prayers were soothing to the hearts of people. His many services carved and wrote the pages of Islamic Revolution”.

The full text of the statement is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah . Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration” Surah Al-Ahzab [33:23]

Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani’s passing away broke our hearts, who was a revolutionist, a warrior, Imam Khomeini’s friend, and Imam Khamenei’s comrade both before the Islamic Revolution and after that.

Hi passing away was coincided with the anniversary of Qom’s uprising against tyranny of the monarchy and martyrdom of “Amir Kabir”, which created a lasting occasion.

His courage during his years of exile and imprisonment, his perseverance in following Imam Khomeini, pioneering the support of Palestine and Lebanon, his efforts in establishing Islamic Revolution, resistance against sedition and division, his efforts in frontlines, and his enlightenment on Friday Prayers were soothing to the hearts of people. His many services carved and wrote the pages of Islamic Revolution. Hashemi’s name is one with Islam, Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution.

In addition to his political campaigns, and scientific and scholarly efforts, his support of the weak is among the not-so-well-known aspects of his character.

Also his pure dedication to the Holy Prophet and Ahlul Bayt (A) which was reflected in his speeches, was another significant aspect of his life. His efforts in breaking the restrictions in Baqi graveyard and his pictures in “Fatemi Fadak” will not ever be forgotten.

On the night of Fatemeh Ma’sumeh’s passing away, Ahlul Bayt World Assembly extends its condolences to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Grand Ayatollahs, Iranian people, and his family for the loss of such a man.
