Srinagar:After deliberations on revival of Persian language in the meeting with the Research and Education Group of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharaie Shian, President of the Organisation, Hojatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi said that our relationship with the Persian language has a vast religious, historical and cultural affinity. “We have observed that the language has been targeted in this state systematically. Consequently, our new generation is denied access to their past and attempted to keep them ignorant of the genesis of our unique identity,” he said.

He said that the Persian language is not only composed of our religious literature but also has treasures of our history. Jammu and Kashmir has contributed to the growth of personate cultures and it will not be wrong to say that after Iran and Afghanistan, Kashmir has remained hub of this language.

President J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian further said we are observing that authorities are trying to eliminate the language from collages as it was removed from the schools. However, we will not allow this to happen. Education is that what enables an individual to understand his/her roots and equips a learner to analyse the past in order to construct a better future.

“We have observed that the language has been targeted in this state systematically. Consequently, our new generation is denied access to their past and attempted to keep them ignorant of the genesis of our unique identity,”

“Instead of this by targeting Persian, the system is conspiring to cut our umbilical cord to out past. Furthermore, the hundreds Persian graduates and research scholars are being kept out of the universities and colleges. This evidently is going to give rise to the crisis and contribute to the fragility of the society,” Aga added.

Aga Syed Hassan further added that Anjuman Sharie Shian is committed to the promotion of Arabic, Urdu and Persian languages. Thus, we will agitate at every level till Persian is not revived in the state. Yet, all institutions of our organisation are ready to assist Higher Education Department and Universities in the state in this regard.
