Prominent Kashmiri Scholar Moulana Ashraf Andrabi Passes away

Srinagar: Prominent Islamic scholar and leaders of Ahl-e-Sunnat J&K, Moulana Mohammad Ashraf Andrabi passed away today at his residence in Zadura village of Pulwama district.He was the founder and chief patron of Shahi Hamdan Trust Pampore and Dar-ul-Uloom Gousia Hamdaniya, Monghama Pulwama.

Andrabi was born in 1926 in Zadura village of Pulwama after which he got his education from Lahore Pakistan and Deoband India.He was great lover of Ahlebayat (AS) and always stand against division among different schools of thoughts in Islam.

Cutring across the lines Leaders of Religious, Political and Social Parties expressed their shock and offered condolences with the family of deceased soul.

Chief Minister J&K Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Islamic scholar Moulana Ashraf Andrabi who passed away at his residence at Zadura, Pulwama today. He was 90.

In her condolence message, Chief Minister said the demise of a very distinguished and respected Islamic scholar Moulana Ashraf Andrabi is a great loss to the society.

She said Moulana was a great religious luminary and a pious soul, who worked for peace, harmony and brotherhood apart from preaching religious and humanistic values.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Chairman Hurriyat (M) & Ameer Mutahida Majlis Ulema Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq has condoled over the sad demise of Noted Islamic Scholar Moulana Ashraf Andrabi and prayed for eternal peace to the deceased soul.

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Chairman National Front Nayeem Ahmad Khan expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing away of noted Islamic Scholar Alama Mohammad Ashraf Andrabi. “By the sad demise of Alama Ashraf Andrabi, we have lost a true scholar,” he said.

He added that Alama Ashraf Andrabi was not only an affectionate teacher but also a well wisher of the freedom movement.

“Kashmiris have lost a great supporter of freedom movement who believed in idealism and humanity,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that whole nation is bereaved on the demise of Alama Ashraf Andrabi. He prayed for his forgiveness and a better alternative of him.

Minister for many other leaders has also condoled the demise of Moulana and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
