Srinagar | Aga Syed Amin | July 4:Residents of Nowgam Sumbal of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district staged protest demonstration against public Health Engineering (PHE) and PDD department on Friday .

Protesters blocked national Highway NH-1A for half an hour to mark the protest against PHE and PDD department.

The protesters included children, womens assembled and raised slogans against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for not receiving water supply since a year.

Locals alleged Public Health Engineering (PHE) are in deep sleep as they didn’t resolve the issue of uninterrupted water supply, the residents are complaining of severe shortage of drinking water for the last year and they had to wait in line for hours to fill buckets with water from towels in other areas.

Residents said despite repeatedly attempts the authorities about shortage of drinking water but they did not readdress our issues.

They were assured by the authorities that their problems will be redressed but nothing has been done so far till date.

Many times according to the protesters the Tehsildar had personally visited to the villages and had told that the things will get solved but all futile
