Srinagar:Yousuf Nadeem was one of the senior Shia separatist activists was shot dead when he on the way home, police said.

Nadeem, an employee of PDD had boarded a Tavera and was on way from Beerwa to Budgam, police sources said, a person boarded the same vehicle and shot him dead.

All other passengers deboarded the vehicle and fled the spot. Police said there are in the process of collecting more details and it will take some time.

Yousuf Nadeem was a former militant of Hizbul Mumineen and was actively associated with Tahreek-e-wehdat.He was General Secretary of TEW,the group a constituent party of Hurriyat Conference (G) led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Mohammad Yousuf Rather alias Yousuf Nadeem, a resident of Sundipora Budgam. A head clerk in PDD posted at Beerwa he was travelling in a service Tavera when he was killed at Charangam on Beerwah Budgam road.
