Syed Ali Geelani sets demilitarization as pre-condition for dialogue on Kashmir Issue

Srinagar:Vetern Pro Freedom Leader amd Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Geelani has said that we in principle were never against the talks as we believe that even after deadly conflicts and destructive wars, things are settled through the dialogue only. But given the long and deceptive nature of the talks on Kashmir we have witnessed this exercise going on more than 150 times without yielding any results till date. The only reason being the unrealistic and arrogant attitude of India.
In a press Statement issued to Wilayat Times,Syed Ali Geelani said that India has forcibly occupied this land in 1947 and since then it is trying by its all means and might to legitimate their illegal occupation. We are fighting for our basic right, for the last 7 decades and whenever the struggle gains momentum and threatens the very existence of Indian occupation here, they use these gimmicks to diffuse and fizzle the momentum away.
He said all the leadership is behind the bars, whole Jammu and Kashmir is under the tight siege of curfew and the killing spree has no end and to create confusion and derail the current uprising, conspiracies of sending the multiple delegations has crept in as if we are in a big zoo and these people are coming in groups to see us and take our pictures.
While retaliating his old and realistic point of view, Hurriyat Chairman categorically said that If India accepts the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir and starts demilitarization, setting a platform for the permanent and peaceful resolution of this age old conflict, we as the representatives of this oppressed nation will welcome any and every move forward in this regard. He however said that we can’t demonize the sanctity of this grave issue by participating in a photo session or for a cup of tea and appealed others also not to indulge themselves into this futile exercise. Referring to the economic constrains of this issue,
Geelani said that two nuclear countries have fought 3 wars and if this issue is not addressed in its real perspective, the nuclear collusion and demographic catastrophe is inevitable.
Commenting on the expansionism and militaristic mindset of India Geelani Sahab said that about 30% Indian populace is living below the poverty line. Those offering laptops and talking of moons and stars for us should concentrate and work for upliftment of the own downtrodden people as we don’t need any such help from them.

Repeating the historical background of Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat Chairman said that this is neither an administrative issue nor a border dispute between two countries, but is the issue of survival for the fourth generation of Kashmiries with their future, faith and culture at stake. The continuous and endless sacrifices strengthen our resolve not to budge from our basic and principled stand.
